The House of Scotland Pipe Band is a 501c3 non profit all volunteer community band. We are made up of bagpipers, drummers, friends, volunteers, and supporters. Throughout the year we perform at a wide variety of functions, and do travel to competitions all around the world! We are available for hire for your next event! We practice every Monday night in beautiful Balboa Park, San Diego.
Under the leadership of Pipe Major Ross Naismith and Drum Sergeant Eric Mabrey, the band regularly performs throughout San Diego and the Western United States. The band takes part in parades, festivals, competitions, civic functions, private parties, and many other celebrations. On occasion the band does travel internationally, just recently returning from Canada winning 1st place at the Montreal Highland Gathering. In 2020 the band will be traveling to the New Zealand Pipe Band Championships.
The band takes great pride in being the official band of the House of Pacific Relations, which is the overseeing body of all the International Houses (Cottages) in Balboa Park. The band, founded in 1964, is affiliated with the House of Scotland in Balboa Park and is proud to carry the name. To commemorate their 50th anniversary in 2014 the band traveled to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
The House of Scotland Pipe Band is very grateful to Ballast Point Brewing Company for their continued support and dedication.
